[…] Glutamine is available as a supplement, but for those who prefer to consume their nutrients whenever possible, there are several foods that naturally contain high levels of glutamine. For example, spinach, cabbage, beans and legumes, animal proteins, and dairy are all foods with glutamine. Heat can destroy glutamine in vegetables, so when eating glutamine-rich vegetables, make sure to eat them raw or in a juice. […]

In reply to <a href="https://www.supplementscience.net/top-5-bcaas/#comment-40">Kelly</a>.

That's a hard question to answer. I'm not sure I have the best answer, as it would be situation by situation. I do know that often what looks like excess skin is still extra fat hanging on. Once you get down to the 10-15% body fat range that should go away (for men) and you'd be able to tell if there is still an issue. I wouldn't ever recommend someone get surgery without first trying to address it with diet and exercise. Here's a decent article on the subject: https://www.muscleforlife.com/how-to-get-rid-of-loose-skin-after-weight-loss/

So, NOW Foods' glutamine definitely is.
From Optimum Nutrition's site: "Suitable for vegetarians"
From Kaged Muscle's website: "It's all vegan, non-GMO, free from impurities, heavy metals, and hidden micro toxins."
I couldn't find anything specific on the rest. I'll let you know if I run into it ever.

In reply to <a href="https://www.supplementscience.net/pre-workout-ingredients/#comment-42">Kelly</a>.

Hard question to answer. Personally, I use it before lifting weights (and sometimes cardio/conditioning). You probably won't see a sustained difference all day as a pre-workout is designed to work over an hour or two long workout (I think there are better options). That being said, I'd test it before you get out on that cross-country bike trip. That way you know beforehand.

Poloquin's product is great. I wouldn't discount Bulk Supplements' 2:1:1 product as it's almost half the price. I love the quality of both too :)
